Social Justice tour and presentation on the Haywood Street Congregation fresco
Asheville artist Christopher Holt has been commissioned to artfully portray Haywood Street’s vision of community through a large scale work of art in the medium of fresco to cover the entire wall of their sanctuary. Featuring faces and scenes from Haywood’s urban ministry, this project will challenge viewers to see neighbors living in poverty with fresh eyes, and help stir a new passion for justice. We’ll hear about the history of the fresco project, how it will benefit the Asheville community, and experience some of the artistic process. Following the presentation you are welcome to join other JSCA members for a discussion over lunch at the nearby Green Sage Westgate, located at 70 Westgate Parkway, next to Earth Fare.
